We’ve had some rather big-blue-sky ideas about drinks at Blacklock. And, as with most things, we’re taking the scenic route – making a few turns along the way, a things out and seeing what sticks.
Our drinks often move through the seasons. We’re rather fond of the ones we’ve got, so when we make a change, it’s because we think we’ve found something worth making room for. Rather than disappear into the back bar and come back with a shiny new cocktail list, we thought we’d let you in on it.
We’re doubling down on some of our favourites, bringing back a few of yours, and letting a few new ideas loose. George has given each of our bars a handful of new tipples, and over the coming months, we’ll see which ones really earn their place on the drinks menu – one that, in some small way, you’re helping us create.
WET YOUR WHISTLE
There’s been plenty of tinkering, excitement and anticipation behind these, with a lot of heart poured into every drink. Our Pip to Peel approach means making the most of every ingredient without compromising what ends up in the glass… more on that later. For now, we reckon they’ve made the grade.
Chophouse Martini
Beefeater Gin, pickle juice, Cocchi Americano vermouth & sherry
Our savoury spin on the classic.
Blacklock Sour
Evan Williams Bourbon, caramelised pecan, maple & lemon
Sweet, nutty and nicely tart. Consider it a liquid pecan pie with a good punch of bourbon.
English Spritz
Beefeater Gin, Sipello English aperitif & Westwell English sparkling
The ultimate all-British answer to the Aperol Spritz.
So next time you’re in, keep your eyes peeled. If you spot a newcomer, give it a go. You might just help it become a keeper on the menu.
Chop Love,
The Blacklock Team x
